Puds Large and Little

Sunday Roast Lunch at Quality Chop House, which has been slaying Sundays since 1869.

Omnipresent smoked cod’s roe, this time with juicy friggitelli.

Mackerel tails- one of the best things I’ve had on this trip.

Steak tartare with Big Mac sauce.

Devon crab toast.

I had the beef (rump on the left, short rib on the right).

Peter and Phillip shared the Lamb for Two, which was exceptional. Lip-smacking and lavish.

Roasted veg: beets (which were brined in some sort of pickling agent before roasting- so freaking good), buttery crumbed broccoli, and unassuming carrots.

Confit potatoes with English mustard glaze.

Sort of like tornado fries but richer.

And three towering, magnificent Yorkshire puddings.

Brown butter white chocolate fudge to finish.

And then Dinings SW3 with my three favorite guys and my favorite middle sister.

A very weird place. I wanted to start with a bottle of sake for the table from the extensive list, but servers are nonsensically forbidden to take bottle orders because those need to go through the sommelier. I didn’t need her assistance in picking a sake, but other tables did, so she ended up being too busy with them to ever visit us, and therefore we never got any. An absolute clown shoes policy and a really expensive meal.

Sir Upstanding Rot

The original Noble Rot on Lamb’s Conduit with Cait.

So many memories and anchovies.

2021 for her big bday 💕

THIS ^
Is a wine list

Really fabulous slipsole.

Surprisingly bright dish of rabbit with Scottish girolles.

Gnocchi with the tastiest goat’s curd.

Peter had never eaten ray or skate before this, so he lucked out because it was an impeccable intro to the genre.
Oohs and Aahs.

And then Phillip drove-ish in from Cambridge.

I haven’t stopped talking about these potatoes since I had them with Klary in 2019. As amazing as evers.

Lamb sweetbreads.

Two rounds of cod roe crumpets.

More chips.

Steak tartare. Too much Worcestershire.

Torn mozzarella.

Toastie!

Two rounds of pickles.

Deviled whitebait.

All the Phillip.
